Avey Tare Down There Album Info
Following in Panda Bear’s footsteps, Avey Tare has himself a lone Animal album coming out this fall. Down There, recorded by the most elusive of Animal Collective members Deakin, is Avey’s first complete solo outing. It was reportedly inspired by crocodiles (reptiles, not the San Diego band). Take a closer look at the croc cover art while you read over the tracklist.

PS I Love You - Meet Me at the Muster Station
PS I Love You - Meet Me at the Muster Station
Kingston, ON's PS I Love You first garnered attention last year with their track "Facelove," the B-side to Diamond Rings' much-loved "All Yr Songs." They followed this up with a seven-inch of their own, "Starfield", establishing themselves a buzz band in their own right. Now, the duo are getting ready to release their first full-length, "Meet Me at the Muster Station", due out October 5 via Paper Bag.
Fans of PS I Love You's gritty, '90s-indebted early singles will be equally impressed by Meet Me at the Muster Station, which offers no shortage of fuzzed-out guitars and frenetic drumming. The LP races through ten tracks in just under 30 minutes, and includes "Facelove" and "Butterflies & Boners" (the "Starfield" B-side). Plus, the LP keeps the anthemic intensity up and in your face from start to finish.
Tracklist:
1. Meet Me At The Muster Station
2. Breadends
3. 2012
4. Cbez
5. Little Spoon
6. Butterflies & Boners
7. Scattered

The Octopus Project - Hexadecagon
The Octopus Project - Hexadecagon
The Octopus Project's fourth album began as an experimental performance piece written for a custom eight-channel audio, eight-screen video integrated surround system. The band then spent months recording and re-arranging the piece to create an ear-dazzling experience for anyone with a pair of speakers or headphones. The result is not so much eight distinct songs as one epic suite with mood swings. This, more than any previous release by The Octopus Project, is an album in the truest sense.
The first syncopated piano riff of “Fuguefat” only hints at the intense, vacillating montage of over 40 interwoven piano tracks which later appear in “Circling.” This fervor gradually subsides into a vast sonic landscape where massive subterranean tones call and respond, and a lone, mournful Theremin wanders the domain in “Toneloop.” That Theremin eventually finds companions among the colossal, soothing pulses of “Hallucinists,” and album closer “Catalog” just might be a millennia-old transmission from a distant intelligent life form.
The CD is packaged in a deluxe gatefold digipak and includes a booklet filled with artwork and imagery from the Hexadecagon performance.
Tracklist:
1. Fuguefat
2. Korakrit
3. A Phantasy
4. Circling
5. Toneloop
6. Glass Jungle
7. Hallucinists
8. Catalog

Tamaryn - The Waves
Tamaryn - The Waves
Following a spate of EPs and singles comes the debut album by Tamaryn, entitled The Waves.
After collaborating with producer Rex John Shelverton (ex-Vue/The Audience/Portraits of Past), Tamaryn left New York and settled in Rex’s hometown of San Francisco to record their first full-length. Whereas Tamaryn’s earlier material was rooted in traditional goth-psych overtones, The Waves represents an incredible step forward in terms of her approach. These nine songs combine driving pop and lush balladry with layered, guitar-driven ethereal atmospheres, against which Tamaryn’s voice, languid and restrained, melts against its surface.
The Waves is a masterful collision of hypnotic psychedelia and bittersweet dream pop.
Tracklist:
01 The Waves
02 Choirs of Winter
03 Love Fade
04 Haze Interior
05 Sandstone
06 Coral Flower
07 Dawning
08 Cascades
09 Mild Confusion
